Les earthships

Aujourd’hui j’aimerais vous parler d’Eco-construction. C’est un domaine très intéressant car il y’a une multitude de manières de concevoir des abris pour l’humain d’une façon plus écologique, plus respectueuse de la nature, plus artistique, plus résistante et plus économique…

J’ai eu la chance au cours de ces dernières années, de rencontrer des gens formidables se battant pour illuminer l’univers du chanvre, des cob house, de la chaux, des earthships et des procédés fantastiques qui en découlent comme l’Aquaponie, les rocket stoves, les torchis….

Nous sommes tous d’une manière ou d’une autre à la recherche de notre monde parfait et il est difficile de l’imaginer sans l’autosuffisance ! Pour commencer, imaginez-vous qu’il soit possible de s’affranchir d’un service d’électricité et de chauffage classique type (EDF, Hydro-Québec, AEP)

Imaginez qu’il soit possible de créer l’abondance sous notre toit en créant des jardins comestibles tout au long de l’année !

Imaginez qu’il n’y aura plus de gaspillage d’eau, toutes les eaux seront récupérées via un cycle naturel!

Imaginez des structures plus artistiques, plus personnelles, plus harmonieuses pour votre confort!

Et croyez-moi, la liste des merveilleuses possibilités que ce genre de constructions offre est longue!

Dans cet article je voudrais donc vous parler du earthship, un habitat incroyable qui pointe vers le sud et dont les épaisses structures sont conçues avec des Pneus remplis de terre et le tout, en harmonie avec la nature.

Un earthship a pour vocation d’offrir l’autosuffisance à ses habitants. Ses larges murs faits de pneus remplis de terre deviennent une masse thermique qui le jour accumule l’energie fournie par les rayons du soleil et la nuit la restitue pour le plus grand bien de ses habitants.

L’eau de pluie est récupérée, l’énergie est produite à l’aide de panneaux solaires, il y’a des toilettes sèches et une serre intégrée fournissant des fruits et légumes 365 jours sur 365 quelqu’en soit le climat extérieur.

L’origine de ce type de projet vient de la période hippie et d’une volonté d’un retour à la terre durant les années 1970.

Michael Reynolds en est le créateur, il a depuis créé un grand nombre d’Eco constructions (Les Earthships) de cette sorte partout dans le monde avec des modèles variant des plus simples au plus luxueux, il en faut pour tous les goûts et couleurs ! Il a par la suite créé la « Earthship Academy » une école offrant de longues formations pour apprendre de A à Z à comment construire un Earthship !

Je vous invite d’ailleurs à regarder le documentaire traitant de cette si belle idée « Garbage Warrior ».

Alors pourquoi des pneus allez-vous me dire ? Premièrement il faut savoir qu’aujourd’hui nous ne savons pas quoi faire de cette quantité astronomique de caoutchouc, plus de 1 milliard de pneus sont produits chaque année dans le monde ! Les bruler serait très mauvais pour les gaz à effet de serre, c’est d’ailleurs pour cela que l’on retrouve des montagnes de pneus partout dans le monde qui dégagent énormément de molécules toxiques dans l’environnement.

De plus la production de pneus ne cesse jamais de croître il est donc important de trouver un moyen rapide de les recycler et il semblerait que construire des maisons faites en pneu serait la solution la plus efficace et bénéfique pour l’humanité jamais trouvée à ce jour !

Ce qui est incroyable c’est que les Pneus cessent d’être toxiques pour leur environnement car ils sont d’une part enfouis dans le sol, remplis de terre et ensuite recouverts de ce qu’on appelle du COB qui est en fait un mélange de paille, sable, argile et eau, ensuite viendront d’autres couches au choix pour les finitions comme de la chaux par exemple.

Le Eartship a plusieurs valeurs qu’il est important de respecter :

*Une fondation en pneus

*Une exposition plein Sud avec une grande baie vitrée qui va permettre au Soleil de rentrer et d’aller frapper sur les pneus pour que ceux-ci emmagasinent le plus de chaleur possible. Il est important de savoir qu’un eartship gagnera chaque année en chaleur.

*Une utilisation maximale de produits recyclés tels les pneus, bouteilles et canettes. (S’adapter aux pays où l’on se trouve).

*Apporter la vie! Littéralement recréer un écosystème personnel grâce à la masse thermique, l’aquaponie et la création de jardins intérieurs. Bonjour ! Figuiers, bananiers, manguiers en plein hiver…

Ce procédé est définitivement incroyable car il est non seulement le moyen le plus judicieux à ce jour de recycler tout cet amas faramineux de pétrole mais aussi le plus sécuritaire !

Il est prouvé que ces constructions résistent aux tremblements de terre, aux feux et aux inondations là ou les constructions dites classiques se transforment en poussière!

De plus, étant donné que c’est un développement assez récent et qu’on ne trouve pas encore beaucoup de formations à part la « Eartships Academy », beaucoup de gens veulent apprendre ces techniques, d’ou la facilité à trouver beaucoup de volontaires pour participer à leurs constructions et je peux vous garantir que vos journées vont être d’une part sportives et de l’autre remplies de fous rires !

Faites des recherches et surtout allez en visiter ! Je vous promets qu’à l’intérieur d’un Earthship on se sent vraiment très bien, au calme et en harmonie avec la Pacha Mama !

    J’ai trouvé au gré de mes pérégrinations sur le net les trois livres de reynolds , qui explique comment construire son earthship de A à Z.
    Je suis en train de les traduire pour les assimiler et pouvoir par la suite en construire plusieurs sur mon terrain 🙂
    Donc ce que j’en pense des Earthship ? c’est un habitat formidable, facile techniquement à construire, en faite il n’y as quasiment que des avantages 🙂
    Le soucis …. certains lobbys énergétique vont grincer des dents si cela se généralise 🙁
    Nous verrons bien 🙂

      Effectivement c’est une vraie merveille! Pour les lobbys c’est une évidence cependant l’heure du changement c’est maintenant!
